Major NWO grant for Yield

17 September 2014

Yield has secured one of the coveted Graduate Programme grants awarded by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).

The purpose of the Graduate Programme is to create an excellent teaching and research environment for highly talented young researchers. Yield has been awarded a grant of €850,000 to appoint four doctoral students. They are from the Research Master’s in Child Development and Education, and the Research Master’s in Psychology. External students can also apply.

Maximum of 16 students

Following a selection procedure, a maximum of 16 students will participate in a special Yield course. The course comprises 16 meetings focusing on the research carried out by Yield's principal investigators. Following the course, the students will work with one of Yield’s principal investigators to write a research proposal. These research proposals will be assessed by a selection committee comprised of Yield’s Advisory Board, four other Yield members and two external referees. Four research proposals will then be selected. The four students whose proposals are selected will be able to carry them out as a doctoral project.
