    Thijmen is a postdoctoral researcher at the Research Institute of Child Development and Education. His research focuses on the well-being of teachers, with a particular emphasis on their daily stress at work. The main topic of his current research involves investigating protective factors against, and recovery mechanisms from, stressful experiences.

    In his Ph.D. thesis, Thijmen explored secondary school teachers' daily stress experiences in secondary education. He investigated the extent to which teachers are affected by stress concerning their learning behaviors, perspectives on their future at work, and recovery mechanisms. Recognizing the dynamic nature of the teaching profession, he is committed to using time-intensive longitudinal data to capture the fluctuating nature of teachers' real-world experiences.
