  • Research Centre for Curriculum Studies

    The Research Centre for Curriculum Studies (RCCS) is a new collaboration between SLO, the Netherlands institute for curriculum development in primary, secondary and special education, and the University of Amsterdam. The aim of this collaboration is to make factors influencing curriculum decision-making processes transparent and to improve these processes.

  • Amsterdam Lab for Language and Technology

    In the Amsterdam Lab for Language Education and Technology (ALLET), language teachers, teacher trainers, and researchers collaborate on research focused on integrating digital competencies into language education.

  • Landelijk Expertisecentrum Mens- en Maatschappijvakken

    The LEMM is a collaboration between the UvA-ILO, VU Teacher Academy, HvA Onderwijs en Opvoeding, and IPABO Amsterdam/Alkmaar. The LEMM publishes the subject didactics journal DiMensies and subject didactics handbooks, organizes further education courses, and carries out projects commissioned by organisations such as SLO, professional associations, and the Ministry.

  • Werkplaats Onderwijsonderzoek Amsterdam PO

    ​De Werkplaats Onderwijsonderzoek Amsterdam Primair Onderwijs (WOA-PO) is a network of Amsterdam primary school boards, educational programmes, and knowledge institutions that have been conducting practice-oriented research together since 2016 on topics relevant to a metropolitan environment.

  • Werkplaatsonderzoek Amsterdam VO/VMBO

    In the Werkplaats Onderwijsonderzoek Amsterdam (WOA), schools, educational programs, and knowledge institutions have been collaborating since 2017 to conduct research that contributes to the quality of education in Amsterdam, the preparation of teachers for teaching in a metropolitan context, and the development of educational theory. The ongoing projects focus on strengthening metacognition and self-regulation of secondary school students and vocational education (MBO) students within the Amsterdam context.

  • Rudolf Berlin Center (RBC)

    An expertise center that brings together scientific research, education, and practice in the field of learning difficulties. As an Academic Workplace, we focus on improving support for children and young people with learning difficulties, such as dyslexia and dyscalculia. Through intensive collaboration between researchers, professionals, and policymakers, we bridge the gap between science and practice to make a concrete impact in education and care. In addition, we contribute to the training of (future) professionals.

  • UvA Minds

    UvA Minds offers specialised mental health care (SGGZ) to children, adolescents, and young adults (and their parents) with psychological problems in Amsterdam, and from April 2024 also in Zaandam. They provide treatment for anxiety, tics, trauma, OCD, depression, ADHD, autism, and selective mutism in the form of individual therapy, group therapy, parent training, and parental guidance.

  • Amsterdam Brain & Cognition (ABC)

    Amsterdam Brain and Cognition serves as a platform and community for cognitive scientists interested in a wide range of Cognitive Science topics, ranging from perception to memory, decision-making, language and logic.

  • Amsterdam Interdisciplinary Centre for Emotion (AICE)

    The Amsterdam Interdisciplinary Centre for Emotion (AICE) is a virtual centre for emotion scholars in Amsterdam. We meet fortnightly to discuss emotion research and host talks by local, national, and interactional speakers.

  • Amsterdam Centre for Inequality Studies (AMCIS)

    The research conducted by AMCIS focuses on inequalities in education, income, living arrangements, and political participation.

  • Centre for Urban Mental Health

    The Centre for Urban Mental Health aims to unravel new pathways to improve urban mental health, taking into account the complexity and dynamics of mental health issues and disorders in an urban environment.
