Brechtje de Mooij is an assistant professor in Forensic Orthopedagogics at the University of Amsterdam. Her interest lies in increasing knowledge about preventive interventions for parents and children. Within this research domain, she is involved in research into effective intervention components of preventive interventions and their unique contribution to the positive development of children. In addition, she is interested in for whom and under what circumstances interventions work best. Brechtje's current research focuses on effective components of preventive parenting interventions and social-emotional skills interventions for children. She is also interested in the influence of the physical environment in which children grow up (i.e., urbanization) on parenting behavior and the development of children's social-emotional skills. This research is affiliated with the Centre for Urban Mental Health.
